JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA, HAVERI
In Navodaya Vidyalaya all over the country standardized the house system . The children of the Vidyalaya are grouped in four, named as ARAVALI, NILGIRI, SHIWALIK, AND UDAYAGIRI HOUSES, Having their own color i.e. Blue, Green, Red, Yellow uniforms and flags respectively, Further made in groups such as senior boys, junior boys, senior girls and junior girls.
OBJECTIVES OF HOUSE SYSTEM:
Ø Provide a smooth transition from life to school life.
Ø Develop situations, which fulfill the social and emotional needs of the children.
Ø Help socialization of pupils to integrate themselves well into corporate life.
Inculcate the sense of responsibility
to take his tasks in life earnestly and discharge them
Prepare pupils to play different kinds of roles as members of a group, community
Ø Develop child’s personality and integrity.
Ø Develop the spirit of healthy competition among the children.
Inculcate the qualities of
self-dignity, self-confidence and respect for others views and
Develop sense belongingness among the
pupils and to create a sense of desire to live in
Ø Benefit by bright example of others and benefit others by his own example.

seniors, elders, teachers and a caring attitude towards

FORMATION OF HOUSES:
In a full fledge Vidyalaya there will be 4 junior houses and 4 senior houses and 2 houses for girls (one from class vi to viii the other form viii the other from class ix to xii) totally
there will be 8 house masters for boys and two for girls. Average strength of the students will be 50 in each house.
ALLOTMENT OF HOUSE:
Every child will be allotted a house on the day of admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya and will not be changed up to class xii.
